THE SECOND SNOWSHOE FOOTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES 2007 HAD AN INTERNATIONAL FINAL
The final in the second Snowshoe Football World Championship Games were played in Hamina Bastioni March the 9th and 10th, where the finnish Team Kapeet met the russian team Maxi-Trans. The battle ended with Maxi-Trans's victory with numbers 2-0.
Russias Maxim Makov was the goal-king of both the Saturday and the whole tournament with his 9 goals.
The battle of Bronch was faught between Summan Ammus and FC Sexriver. The tough match ended with 3-0 for Sexriver.
5th and 6th places were played between the EU/Brittish team European All Stars and the finnish Mehukepit. Their battle ended with European All Stars mere defeat. Final score was 1-0 for Mehukepit.
THE WEATHER AND THE GEAR GAVE THE PLAYERS HARD TIME
The warm weather caused the lack of snow on the playfields. Fridays fields were almost swimable, but the Saturdays finals could be played on some firmer liquids, on a blend of ice, snow and water.
The lacking snow and the players fighting spirit gave also the snowshoes hard time. Compared with last years games, a record amount of snowshoes were broken this year giving the shoemakers a lot of work.
- "Next year we must create our own snowshoes specially ment for the Snowshoe Football, so we can play without unnecessary breaks and without broken gear", said the games administration.
Next time The Snowshoe Football World Championship is played in Hamina Bastioni on the March 7th and 8th 2008.

FIRST DAY
First days games in Snowshoe Football World Championship were played on muddy fields on friday, with tough battles all the way into the final minutes. All teams had only male players and the judges had even to "calm down" some of the players with their red cards.
A- and B-divisions winners went on to the finals on saturday. These teams were the finnish Team Kapeet from Hamina and the russian team Maxi-Trans.
The twos in divisions faught about the placement in the finals and only after a round of penalty-kicks fell the last years champions Myrskylinnut, leaving place for Ammus-team in saturdays finals.
SATURDAY
Snowshoe Football World Championship Games 2007 continue on saturday at 11.00 o'clock on Hamina Bastion-field. The warm weather promises less snow and more large waterholes.
On saturday we can see a few new teams, among others the brittish European All Stars as well as last years Mehukepit and FC Sexriver. These newcomers meet the finalists from friday.
The battles of medals are faught in the early afternoon.
The publiken can try their skills on, exept following the games in Hamina Bastioni, for example snnowshoewalking, team-skiing and team-scootering, as well as sausage grilling and sitiing in the outdoor cafeteria.
Winners will also this year be rewarded with a glassmedal created by the glassartist Anne Takanen.
Producer for the championshiparrangement of the Snowshoefootball 2007 is Axel´s Production, Cursor Oy / Merikymi, Hamina Bastioni and the city of Hamina as well as Helia Porvoo-Borgå serviceprogram-courses students.

Saturday, March the 10th 2007 10.00 am – ca. 6.00 pm
On Friday the 9th March 2007 a peculiar event will take place at the Hamina Bastion Arena: the world’s second football tournament played wearing snowshoes! It is a unique opportunity for all citizens of the world to take part in.
20 teams (each team consisting of 5+1 players plus max 4 substitute players, see `Rules of Snowshoe Football´) will be accepted to compete for the title of the Snowshoe Football World Champion team and will be able to challenge 2006 Champions.
Year 2007 several teams are rewarded:
On Friday "The Best International Team" and "The Best Corporate Team".
On Saturday "The Best Mixed Team", "The Best Amateur Team", "The Best Game Outfit" and "The Best Fan Team".
On Saturday also the crowning of the 2007 Champions!
